10 Reasons Why People Don’t Reach Their Goals and Some Quick Fix

Reach your goal
With everything that happens around us, it is sometimes difficult to reach our goals.
This is compounded if you have any of the reasons on the list below.
Luckily, in addition to the top 10 reasons why people don’t reach their goals, I’ve included a quick fix for each of them. So let’s get to it.

1. Creating Vague Goals
When you don’t know where you are going, it is really hard to get there. Many people set themselves up for failure when they set goals that are unclear. “I want to lose weight” sounds like a great goal but the people who set this kindof goal will never reach it. It is not because the people are not motivated or
disciplined but because the goal is too general. Do you want to lose 5 lbs or 50 lbs?

Quick Fix: Set SMART goals by being Specific, making sure they are Measurable, Achievable and Realistic, and last but not least — give yourself a Time deadline.

2. Lacking a Higher Purpose
Goals can be set on any topic imaginable but if you don’t have a higher purpose, it makes it is easy to give up once the initial motivation and excitement wears off. Understanding how your goal is relevant to you allows you to persevere even when the going gets tough.

Quick Fix: When setting your SMART goal, ask yourself how the goal is relevant to your life and what you want to achieve.

3. Procrastinating
Even when you have SMART goals that are relevant to your purpose, if you don’t get started, you’ll never achieve your goal. One of the most dangerous phrases is “I’ll do it later.”

Quick Fix: Make sure the goal has been broken down into manageable pieces
and then start right away.
4. Not Taking Responsibility
Things will go wrong. That’s a fact of life. When something comes up and you don’t achieve your goal, who do you blame? Your boss who kept you at work late so you couldn’t work on your book or maybe the horrible weather that stopped you from going to the gym. If it’s not your fault, there is nothing you can do, right?

Quick Fix: Own up to not reaching your goals. When you take responsibility,
you’ll become resourceful knowing that you have control over the attainment
of your goals.
5. Listening to People Who Discourage You
When you go for your goals, especially the big ones that really count and fit in with your purpose in life, it is inevitable that people will discourage you.
There are many reasons for this: concern, jealousy, ignorance, etc. How many goals have already been given up on because other people decided they were not worth pursuing?

Quick Fix: This one is easy. As long as you know the purpose for your goal, ignore the naysayers. You can take what they are saying into consideration but make sure you make the final choice.

6. Starting Too Many Projects
I’m a starter. That sounds like a good thing but not when you start too many things, you don’t end up finishing many of them. This usually stems from the fear of missing out (FOMO) or being someone who has many ideas.

Quick Fix: Understand that you have a limited amount of time and that you can’t do everything. To deal with FOMO, realize that by not finishing, you are missing out on all the opportunities that open up when you finish the projects you are working on.

7. Being Negative
If you think you’re not going to make it, then you’re probably not going to make it. If you don’t believe you’re going to reach your goal, then when you fail, it is expected which makes it easy to stop trying. When you are optimisticand a setback occurs, you focus your energy on finding solutions because you truly believe there is one.

Quick Fix: Consider the idea that optimism and pessimism are both expectations of the future. Each are equally likely to be true but which belief will help you lead a happier more fulfilled life? Instead of wasting your energy on complaining, spend that energy on learning.

8. Being Selfish
There are people out there that think it is silly to help others. They believe in
taking and not giving. They are misers with their time, money and knowledge
and are only interested in opportunities where they stand to benefit. Most big
goals require the help of others and it is very difficult to help people who only
care about taking.
Quick Fix: Serve others first. Always look for ways to add value to other
people.
9. Surrounding Yourself with People Who Don’t Reach Their Goals
You are who you associate with. This may be hard to swallow for some people and there are always exceptions to the rule but for the most part, we act in accordance with the people around us. This comes from the strong ad natural desire to belong and to be accepted (think of all the dumb things you did in high school just to fit in).

Quick Fix: Associate with people who always reach their goals.

10. Watching Too Much TV
Not all TV is bad but if you are watching TV then most likely you are not doing anything to move one step closer to your goal. The problem with TV these days is that it is captivating. There are programs for all interests and hobbies and the shows keep getting better and better. Those who watch a lot of TV usually don’t reach their goals and perhaps people watch TV because they don’t have any goals.

Quick Fix: Shut off the TV. Cancel the cable. Pick up a book that will help you move one step closer to your goal.

Latest Review: Sony VAIO Z Flip Review

Whenever Sony releases a new VAIO laptop, we pay close attention, and typically with good reason. The company is well-known for creating high-end laptops that are typically well-designed and especially pleasing to the eye. Does their newest line, the Sony VAIO Z, live up to the Sony name?

Well check out our full review on the Sony VAIO Z Flip

Price: $2,379
Availability: Yes

What we Like
Gorgeous design
Incredibly lightweight
Ultra-fast CPU

What We Did Not
Wonky plug design
Uncomfortable to hold in tablet mode

Sony VAIO Z Flip Specifications

  • Processor:    Intel Core i7-6567U, 3.30GHz
  • RAM:          16GB
  • Storage Space:       512GB SSD
  • Display Size:      13.3"
  • Touchscreen:     YES
  • Graphics Card:    Intel Iris Graphics 540 4GB Mem
  • Battery Life:    11 hr and 15 min
  • Display Resolution:    2560x1440
  • Price:      $2,379.00

Design

When it comes to business class laptops, one of the most important elements when owning one is its design. After all, what's the point of having a high-end laptop when not connected to produce the aura in it?

Fortunately, the Sony VAIO Z flip oozes style with its sleek design. It is sure an impressive laptop to behold, especially when it is opened and the keys are illuminated. The back of the screen sports a minimalist design that has a small logo at the bottom (which I will also note that the VAIO brand has a well-designed logo). It has a slim design, and as a whole package, the VAIO is an impressive-looking business laptop.

Software

While exterior design is important, it is also important to have a great operating system and software to help you get the job done.

With the VAIO Z, there is no bloatware or annoying pre-installed programs that you are forced to use. Instead, you get a clean install of Windows 10 64-bit operating system.

With all the software that Sony makes, you would expect them to prepackage their programs to force feed them to you. Fortunately, that is not the case with the VAIO Z, and you are given a blank canvas to create your own masterful suite of software.

Hardware

As far as what's under the hood, the VAIO Z does sports impressive specs, including a best-in-class 6th generation Intel Core i7-6567U (4MB Cache, 3.30GHz out of the box). It also comes with 16GB1866MHz LPDDR3 RAM and a 512GB PCIe SSD zippy. The laptop comes with a stylus that is perfect for notes and other applications.

The keyboard has a great feel to it, and it has a smudge-free design. It is also impressive-looking as I mentioned above, especially when illuminated. Even with the laptop small size, the keyboard never feels cramped, and typing is comfortable.

The trackpad does not feel grainy like some trackpads can sometimes, and it has a pretty decent size with access to approximately 1/3 of the space at the bottom of the ultrabook.

It comes with a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port with charger, another SuperSpeed USB 3.0 without charge, an HDMI port and a port for headphones and microphone.

Possibly its most disappointing aspect, however, is the awfully-designed AC plug that is used with it. Instead of a reliable connection that moves with you, the laptop’s plug frequently moves out of place and disconnects at the slightest movement. It is not a good fit as AC plugs should be, and you can literally wiggle the plug into the port rather easily.

Performance

It would be hard to knock on the performance of the VAIO Z, as it is surprisingly powerful for its size.

In our Geekbench 3 tests, it scored 3,549 for single-core and 7513 for multi-core, both of which are impressive numbers

Battery

VAIO Z's battery life is impressive for the specs that you get. The battery lasts for 9 hours and 30 minutes on a full charge and a moderate use, and 11 hours at completely idle. That means the VAIO Z is ideal for business and to take to work, as you will not have to worry about lugging around the plug with it.

Display

The VAIO Z has an impressive sharp display thanks to WQHD technology that enhances visual experience with sharper lines, vivid colors and rich detail. Videos were crisp and popped off the screen nicely.

Of course, it also has a touchscreen and you'll soon find yourself using the screen to surf the web and scroll instead of clicking with a mouse. Thanks to our extensive use of smartphones, using the screen to navigate feels natural, and it is a function that would be missed if you ever downgrade to a non-touchscreen laptop.

Conclusion

There is no denying that the Sony Vaio Z is drop dead sexy, and that gives a high-end business look. And, it's definitely a powerhouse ultrabook that can get the job done.

It is incredibly light, and it has a nice design to the screen. The fact that it has a well-lit keyboard also earns some bonus points.

iPhone 7 Rumors: Dual SIM Support, Edge-To-Edge Display And More

The upcoming iPhone 7 has been in the rumor mills quite a lot lately and more details about the device has surfaced over the last few weeks. As much as Apple keeps a tight lid on its next flagship, leaks and rumors have found their way to the internet. While some of these sound plausible, others are just absurd and totally unbelievable.

Edge-To-Edge Display

This is long overdue and Apple is expected to have a bezel-less display on the iPhone 7. There have been rumors surrounding this. Some believe the next device won’t have this, but the 2017 iPhone 7. Whatever the case may be, we’re very likely to see an edge-to-edge display on the iPhone pretty soon.

Rumors surrounding this also suggests Apple plans to introduce a flexible OLED screen in 2017 and some of these will be supplied by Samsung.

Dual-SIM support

This is probably the most absurd rumor we’ve heard but the next iPhone is said to support dual SIM. Apple isn’t known for this and it is most unlikely this will happen. Then again, nobody knew the company would introduce a 5.5″ device in 2014 when it had earlier criticized smartphones with big screens.

Rock Fix, a smartphone repair shop in China posted some images of components alleged to be for the iPhone 7. This suggested the dual-SIM support and a 256GB variant.

If this is eventually introduced, it may only be available in markets like Asia and Africa.

Dual-camera setup on the iPhone 7 Plus

This has been in the news for a while and there are leaked components to support this. Apple will likely have a dual-camera setup on the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus. As seen on devices like Huawei Mate 9, this will improve image quality and produce DSLR-like photos.

The leaked camera module picture also suggests this.

Headphone jack is still present

Contrary to rumors we previously heard that Apple is going to get rid of the 3.5mm earphone jack, recent leaks suggests that this is still there after all.

Production started

According to reports, production has started for the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 at Pegatron factory according to renowned leakster @onleaks. However, the same can’t be said for the bigger iPhone 7 Plus, but Apple may be producing this at another location.
