And just a few days ago, we published a report claiming that the iPhone 7 might come with a 256GB storage space and a larger battery. Well, we are yet to confirm these rumors, but a new report published by Fast Company was in line with the existing rumors, and we got some more juicy details.
The headphone jack is no more
Rumors has circulated about this. A group of Apple fans are even kicking against the idea, and a petition was made with more than 210,000 signatures already. According to the report, a source close to Apple disclosed that Apple will remove the 3.5mm jack from the next iPhone to make it thinner.
It is said that in place of the traditional headphone jack, Apple will use the lightning cable-port for wired sound. The device will also be supplied with a wireless earbuds with noise canceling technology.
iPhone 7 can support wireless charging
Apple is far behind in this respect as competitors like Samsung already have devices that support wireless charging. The source revealed that Apple is finally considering the implementation of the function on the iPhone 7 and there is a very high probability that it will happen.
However, it will not be the first Apple device to support wireless charging as the Apple Watch already has wireless inductive charging function.
A waterproof iPhone 7
The report also highlights a waterproof iPhone 7, but this rumor has been circulating for a while. Even if this happens, it is not a surprise. Apple has the iPhone 6S almost completely waterproof, but it was not mentioned during the launch.
It is only expected the waterproof function on the iPhone 6S is perfected in the next generation iPhone.
Publication Date
There is still no word on release date but analysts speculate it should be around September. It should be noted that although Apple could be working on the mentioned functions, they may not make it to the final build of the device as the company often changes things at the last moment.
Perhaps more info will be leaked when Apple finally goes into production.
